Personal vs Business: Which Account Fits?

Home  ›  Blog  ›  Account Guide

Customer paying by card on a laptop

The most common question our support team hears: “Do I need a business account?” The honest answer is that most people start personal and upgrade when selling becomes routine. Here is how to tell where you stand.

Stay personal if…

You sell occasionally — a few commissions, secondhand finds, fundraiser tickets. You mostly need to send and receive money, shop online with a virtual card and see where it all goes. Personal accounts do all of this free, forever.

Go business when…

Customers pay you weekly, you need card checkout on a site or at a counter, or tax time already hurts. Business accounts add next-day settlement batches, staff logins, invoicing with Pay Now buttons and the Monday summary that tracks it all. The flat 3.5% plus USD 1.00 only applies when customers pay you.

Switching takes two taps

There is no wrong first choice. Upgrade inside the app whenever you like — history, contacts, cards and integrations carry over untouched. Many sellers run both: personal for life, business for the shop, toggled from one login.

Still unsure? Message support with how you sell and we will recommend the right fit in one reply.
